We have been included in The Good Hotel Guide every one of the 13 years we have owned Romney Bay House as well as the Michelin red Hotel Guide.
The cuisine at Romney Bay House Hotel is to die for! Every evening you will be treated to a surprise 3 course meal consisting of a fish starter, main meat entree and a pudding. Being a complete surprise the chef merely requests you to let him know in advance of any food that you do not like or are allergic to and he will work menus around your requirements accordingly. So, say, if fish is no go for you, something different will be prepared instead.
Our Friday evening gala dinner is somewhat more special and extravagant and we highly recommend eating only a light lunch at midday!, A pre-dinner drink and canapes, starter, sorbet, main entree, pudding, cheese and biscuits and tipple will be a fitting gastronomic delight to conclude your stay.
Examples of the standard 3 course evening meals are as follows:
Sample menu 1
Pan fried local white fish (as available) with a red onion risotto
Fillet of Kentish pork with wild mushrooms, cocotte potatoes & apple jus
Floating islands with mixed berries & home made vanilla ice cream
Sample menu 2
Home smoked marbled fish terrine, horseradish cream & caviar
Rump of Romney Marsh lamb, braised red cabbage, fondant potato & red currant jus
Passion fruit Cambridge burnt cream
