Capture and Create is a new photography and photo editing partnership aimed at giving our customers and students a unique photography and photo editing experience that combines luxurious living, fine dining and expert tuition.
Based in some of the South of England’s most exclusive venues, Capture and Create; a new venture jointly owned and managed by best selling author and photographer Doug Harman and renown photographer and artist Sue Chapman ARPS CPAGB.
Both Capture and Create partners are independent professional photographers with 40-years experience between them. Based in the South East of England the retreat-style workshops are based within stunning country hotels, Manor Houses, beautifully converted barns, former stately homes or properties once owned by the rich and famous. Sue said: “We will be running a selection of photography and Photoshop retreats and workshops, the aim to allow all our clients the opportunity to relax and enjoy their whole stay in a very unique way“. Partners are welcome and while you take part in the course, they can enjoy the delights of either the surrounding countryside, the beautiful gardens attached to the properties, our local towns or visit some of our world-famous attractions such as castles and parks or the nearby, stunning, White Cliffs coastline.

Capture and Create and Warnborough College
As part of the new partnership, Capture and Create has teamed up with Warnborough College Worldwide, a top independent college based in Canterbury. Sue Chapman said of the new tie-up with Warnborough College: “As a relatively new partnership we are keen to build our business and so we are extremely pleased to have signed contracts with Warnborough College”. Sue works professionally as a commercial photographer specialising in interiors, product and fine art photography. She is a member of two local camera clubs (Ashford and Folkestone), is an Associate of the Royal Photographic Society, holds the Certificate of the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain and is a member of The Photographic Society of America and has gained many acceptances and medals in all five. In addition to her commercial work Sue’s passion is teaching others the basics of photography, mastering Photoshop skills and delight in all that Photoshop has to offer!
Doug specialises on social, commercial architectural and portrait photography as well as his freelance journalism, authorship, image retouching (Photoshop etc.), technical writing, print production, advertising and marketing
Doug has over 27 year’s experience as a journalist, author, photographer, and digital camera and technology tester and today works from his purpose-built studio space at his home in Kent and is author of the UK’s No1 best-selling The Digital Photography Handbook, now in it’s fifth edition and a pocket guide to better camera phone photography called Snap It!. He is also technical advisor to John Freeman on the Digital SLR Handbook.
Doug has written extensively for many digital photography magazines and websites, including Amateur Photographer, What Digital Camera, Total Digital Photography, Digital Photographer, Pocket-Lint.com, and fourthirds-user.com; Professional Photographer, Photography Monthly and Digital Camera Buyer. Doug has also contributed to The Times Online. He wrote and presented a digital photography DVD show called, appropriately enough, Doug Harman’s Guide to Digital Photography and, along with his writing and photography, he teaches photography and photography technique.
