An Introduction to Product and Still Life Photography

Join best-selling photographer Doug Harman and Photographer and renowned Photoshop Artist Sue Chapman ARPS, CPAGB for their 2017 photography and Photoshop day workshops.
This one day workshop comprises the following:
0930 Meet and welcome at the Oak room, Brabourne Lees with coffee and introductions.
1000 An introduction to the basic techniques of product and still life photography.
1100 Practical session demonstrating equipment, techniques, lighting and composition.
1230 Working Lunch (provided)
1315 Time for you to experiment with your cameras and kit with full assistance by Doug and Sue
1445 Refreshment break
1515 Upload and edit your photos
1600 Share best images of the day and Q&A
1630 Summary and close
This one day workshop caters for beginners to intermediate. Some basic knowledge of either Adobe Elements, Lightroom or Photoshop or any other editing software you currently use and are familiar with is preferable but not essential, so that you are able to upload your images and do some basic adjustments in order for us to view and share your best image of the day. Limited access to one of our PC's will be available but not everyone will have time to use.

SUGGESTION: IF you have something you would like to experiment with for your product / still life set-up shot please do bring it with you. Items such as backdrops, flowers, bottles, food items, etc. all make for a great set-up
What You Need to bring...
- Camera gear and accessories
You will need a camera where you are able to control aperture, shutter speeds and ISO (sensitivity). It does not need to be an SLR however. Additionally please bring...
- A ring flash if you have one.
- All your lenses but if you do own a dedicated 50mm or 100mm these would be very beneficial.
- A reasonable capacity memory card, such as 8GB – or higher – compatible with your camera.
- A sturdy tripod is highly recommended
- A flash gun or any off camera lighting equipment if you have them. These are not essential especially if you bring a tripod!
- Your laptop with a minimum RAM of 4GB. 8GB or higher preferable.
Should you not have Lightroom or Photoshop or Elements pre-installed on your PC, we suggest you download a free 30 day trial directly from Adobe a few days before the start date which will be fully functional for the workshop. A basic knowledge of any one of these programs is essential for this workshop.
